Your FIRE number is your annual retirement expenses divided by your safe withdrawal rate (for example, $40,000 ÷ 4% = $1,000,000). The countdown projects when your current investments, growing at your assumed return and topped up by your yearly contributions, are expected to reach that number. Tap "How this is calculated" on the Plan tab to see the math with your own figures.
